Water is not soft at the outlet of the ElSr (Electrolytic Scale Remover), but the scale forming ion content has been reduced to a level that prevents precipitation in the RO membranes.
The ElSr will precipitate all scale forming ions, not just magnesium and calcium but also other ions that are susceptible to drop out the liquid at high pH e.g. Silica, Ferum, Manganese, sodium, etc. Since the ions are precipitated, it can easily pass the Membrane and hence it won’t choke the filter and also the reject water reduced drastically and in turn, the permeate water will be increased.
